I’ve got no idea why, but potatoes came to my mind today. Actually, I love potatoes almost in any way they can be had: roasted, plain jacket, boiled, mashed, creamed, fried and on and on. But tonight I remembered a song the late, great Joe Zawinul once did with the Zawinul Syndicate on the album “My people”, called Erdäpfee blues, sung in his Austrian dialect, which is a rare thing (sorry, no video, but a least a last.fm link so you can get a wee taste). And I like to match that with Jan Delay’s song “Kartoffel”.
