Don’t know why our bridge results are so poor, lately. We seem to get worse and worse. Given, we haven’t played much in the last couple of weeks. Due to my partners bad health and my busy job situation. But to get such a low percentage every time just pisses me off. I just wanted out of the club immediately tonight after the tournament was finished. What a waste of time, really. Don’t know why we keep coming back, asking for more of the bashing we’re taking every time we compete. Instead of packing it all in and quit all together. Guess I just had a shitty day. At least not as shitty as Soko. Her little song puts a smile on my face after all…
Soko, Shitty day

Change the bidding conventions or your partner.

any bidding system is only as good as it is understood by both partners. I am very much in favour of the KISS theory: keep it short ad simple. Where it lacks, use your imagination.

he is a gem and who else on earth would ever put up with my horrible play? (I induldge in thinking up smart ways of bidding but am often at a loss cooking up a simple game plan)

ok, obviously you know how to play this game. and you’re spot on. but bidding conventions are widely overrated. good play, clean defense strategies and an overall idea of what is going on at the table are crucial. given, that implies knowing your own and the opponents bidding system…
