Sorry folks, couldn’t get anywhere near a computer last Sunday. Otherwise, this would have been the content of the regular Sunday matinée on this here blog, to use some wording in the diction of this entry. Willy DeVille died of cancer on August 6th, 2009, aged 59. Another great one gone. The music stays, though. Thank fuck for that. Here’s “steady drivin’ man”, which he was and wasn’t. At all. Both. And then “been there, done that”. Which is also a very true statement to make about a man like Willy DeVille.
