Today, someone else’s story agitated me all day long. The atrocities I heard made my heart cringe. Apart from the empathy for a fellow human being I realised once more that everybody seems so alone in their own hurt. No one can possibly fathom and nothing can truly help. And yet, all of us have got some kind of cross reference within to create understanding. Making room for communication, giving leeway to healing. Although I don’t agree with the religious connotation, a song by Mississippi John Hurt comes to my mind: You got to walk that lonesome valley for yourself.

You’ve got to walk for yourself, but you are not alone. One might as well take all the support there is. Music, for example.
