As I am completely at ease with myself and this year- notwhithstanding a lot of havoc at work – has turned out to be a great year, I feel like listening to this waltz once more. For me it carries always a “state of the union” message, as it is traditionally listened to at the bells on New Years Eve by most Austrians. My time to sum up what’s happened in the year ending and dream up, what could be happening next. Well, in 2009 good things I have happened to. I hardly ever listened to this music during the course of a year. Today, a particularely nice day, with blue skies, hazed over with just a hint of autumn, I feel whole and am as happy as one can possibly ever get. Life is good. On the banks of Danube blue, here in Berlin and hopefully everywhere else, too.
