Rattle and the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra went digital. The project is called “The digital concert hall”. I think this is something to put forward to all of you. As I just stumbled upon this, I shall find out more about it. Seems, the orchestra films and records concerts so the recipients can just download it and enjoy it from where ever they are. I think this is a great idea. Although it is missing out the “live” factor, the dressing up, the gossipping about who or who is not in the audience tonight, the see and be seen thing, in short, all the red carpet ado. On the other hand, when does one actually take the time and make the effort for such a special treat? As far as I am concerned not quite as often as I would like to listen to this great orchestra.
