Was reminded to mind the gap recently. By a most venerated co-operator on this very platform. Which term zooms me right back to the topic at hand: the London underground and its constant, mindboggling mantra to mind the GAP. It takes on a life on itself when you happen to ride the tube repeatedly for a while. Written on the platforms itself, run in LED letters on overhead boards and endlessly repeated on the train and in the station over tannoys. Have a listen for yourself while keeping in mind – besides the minding of the bloody gap itself – that you hear that at every single stop.
mind the gap!
And to top it all off, here’s a little oldi with mind the gap:
Oldi, Mind the gap

I’m truly sorry. But it is as annoying as that constant trash the tube feeds.

OMG! Mind that voice! (I listened to the Oldi-tune with earplugs and now I’ve wet myself.)
