This year’s Masters is on in Augusta as I write this and after the first round I was catapulted back to the good old days. Fred Couples and ol’ Tom Watson right up on the leaderboard. After round two, they are still within five or so shots of the lead. Whereas Mr. Kaymer and Langer haven’t even made the cut and old Woosie shot himself well into the eighties both days, not even anywhere near the cut. Just goes to show. Langer’s putting was excellent, though, I have to admit. What a grand thing it would be if Tom Watson could hold up tonight and tomorrow. I surely would go haywire. Fred Couples would do, too. Am just not so keen on Tiger Woods mastering the beast in Augusta once more. If one of the younger ones were to win, I’d much rather see Ernie Els wearing green come Sunday eve. He is long due a box in that upstairs locker room kept exclusively for Masters Champions.
