And now she did it! Went and won that horrible event said to have something to do with music. Which I doubt. Anyways, as I was obliged to watch the whole thing last night (my sweetheart is 30+, too) two facts are worth mentioning: First, the new speed with which they relate the voting results is great. I remember the last time I watched this show some 13 years ago it took forever to have 20 odd nations spell out their twelve points one after the other. And second, there was really no alternative to Lena. As bad as Satellite is, most of the other titles were far worse. Two more songs were halfway tolerable, the little boy from Belgium with his guitar and the Cyprus boy. Apart from that: Turkey had decent lyrics. That was just about it. On a more private note: I could not bring myself to be glad for Lena. Or Germany. And I had really nothing else to do the whole evening. With no stakes in this contest whatsoever. I tried to be a good sport but felt incapable to get involved or show some enthusiasm. I honestly wish I could have. For the fun of it. For my man. But mostly for myself.
