perpetuum immobile

Finally bought a car today. You honestly don’t want to hear the long story leading up to the lucky finalisation today. Never mind, in the end, with much help from my sweetheart, I found a car, had a look at it about 10 days ago, decided for it, made a down-payment, organised the rest of the funding, put a stack of cash on a desktop today and alas, I own a car once again. Can’t drive it yet, though. Perpetuum immobile. Perpetual no-motion machine. For the time being. Not for long and my life will be much easier again. Gone will be the days I have to spend more than three hours to get to and back from work, if I ever got there at all. You can’t imagine how I look forward to this. And how my regular cab guys will hate the end of their extra income.
Anyways, next Tuesday I shall get number plates, by end of next week I will have it driven to someplace close and in a couple of weeks I shall be at the steering wheel myself again.
And a good deal I got, too. For a little city car built in May 2008, put on German streets in November 2008 for the first time with a mere 22.000 km on the meter up to now I only had to pay 4,5 grant. Never owned a car that new. Looks brand new to me. And the best thing about it: it is red. No more shade not normally produced by nature, which was the horrible tinge of green my last car had. So much for female prioritising, as far as cars are concerned.
