Saw a band called Katzenjammer in Postbahnhof last night. The four Norwegian ladies had it all: swing, rock, blues, folk, circus atmosphere, fire, noise, some melancholy but foremost they had fun performing. I was amazed to see how well they worked as a team. Taking turns on the drums and various other instruments of which there were plenty. And the crowd, lots and lots of people, in fact, I’ve never seen Postbahnhof that cram-packed before, had a great time listening to the girls. Jürgen Trittin was among those enjoying the evening, too, I noticed. Got good taste in music apparently. My sweetheart was overwhelmed. I’ve never seen him as enthusiastic before. He said it was by far the best concert he has been to in the last thirty years. I wouldn’t go as far as that. But I will agree, that Katzenjammer – what a name to pick for Norwegians – are well worth listening to, great musicians, the lot of them and good fun to watch. Plus I have never before seen a more exiting stage outfit than yesterday on Solveig Heilo. Oh, the glimpses one got when she was on the drums. All the time exuding a calm sense of independence, freedom and strong will. What a beautiful thing to see. If I were a man, I would have fallen in love with her on the spot.
By the way: they will be back in Berlin on November, 10th. Performing in Columbiahalle. Make sure to get tickets, if you can.

Ich fand ja eher die Live-Versionen besser. Das Album selbst höre ich mir nicht so oft an, aber das Konzert im letzten Sommer in Jena war schlichtweg atemberaubend. Wenn ich denn mal dazu komme, kann ich ja endlich die Fotos davon veröffentlichen. Aber ich habe ja so viel auf Halde…

vielleicht standen wir nur nicht optimal so ganz links außen. werde im herbst jedenfalls wieder zum konzert gehen. klasse mädels. gute fotos wären auch nett…

war echt klasse. zuweilen a bissl zu viel zirkus für meinen geschmack, aber die studioversionen sind deutlich besser. eine mixtur aus vaya con dios, fairground attraction und skandinavien ohne depri, surprisingly
