It’s like groundhog day. This year I had a dream team. With one great addition signing his contract only a week ago. And now all my effort crumbles to almost nothing. The new guy walking back on his decision. A neighbouring golf course bribing off my acquisitions from last winter with lots of money, more than I can and want to top. And because their contracts are fairly new, they are still on probation and the terms of notice are very short still. Might well be that I am in serious trouble as of July. Now I am forced to take on a trainee I don’t really want. And start recruiting instantly again. In mid season. With no time to spare. Shit happens. Will I ever get used to this?

those plotting humans with their going back and forth on decisions … and how about a generalised “fie!” on money for being a factor in these shenanigans.

I think a general “fie!” on humans would be more approbriate. You give them a chance, train them and then they let you down. I don’t know what happened to values like relieability and loyalty. To standing to your word or fullfilling a contract you signed. In between, the worst happened and I am in the projected trouble already. But thanks for noticing… hope you’re well. Have next to no time these days, not even reading up on how you fare..

if only formulating heavy penalty fines (in case they do go back on their word) wasnt such a turn-off when considering signing anything in the first place.
Maybe the portrayal of contract renegotiations & being bound in court for years at a time in our massmedia & daily experience with trivial, minute things as travelpapers or driving lisences 😉 makes it easy for flimflams to threaten & follow through on erratic & infantile behaviour esp. when it comes to honouring contracts that have been delievered on without exchanging the implied return expected by him/her being on & part of the team….rambling- ^^ sry
doing fine, thx- bit crowded in my head though 😛
don’t let ppls non-update updates on life put any additional stress on you. (you know who they are :P) unless of course that is an environment under which you strive. ^^
take care
