Ok, so dreckscheuder is of the opinion, that there is still a gross difference between gents and ladies football world championships. I’ll admit, in comparison, support for the girls is in no way anywhere close to the near hysteria breaking loose, as soon as the guys are on. And in terms of turnover, he’ll be dead right. But nevertheless, I am impressed with the support displayed here everywhere. To be honest, I never even noticed that girls football existed up untill recently (I think the success of the Turbine Potsdam Team in the Champions League finally made me aware of the fact, that girls ran leagues of their own at all). I am well pleased with what I see. In terms of sportsladyship as well as of sympathy and support. Who would ever have guessed the depth and width of public interest and media attention. After all, football is most likely one of the biggest male domains, ranking second only to penises. Closely followed by cars, I guess. Or beer. Take your pick. Just in the WAG part of the game the scale still tilts in favour of the guys, I think…

na ja, im großen und ganzen ist recht viel wirbel um die kickerinnen. aber auch du hast recht: kein vergleich zum männerfußball. aber genau das ist ja der punkt. es geht ja nicht um synchronschwimmen oder dressurreiten, sondern um die männerdomäne im sport schlechthin: fußball eben. dass der eigene verband zu doof ist, den landslide zu bemerken, ist traurig und bezeichnend.
