blown away

I liked the grey. Or so I said yesterday morning. Actually, up to a certain point, is what I meant to say. When combined with heavy rainfall and torrent winds, it gets a tad uncomfortable. Happened yesterday. Did I mention, there was a 54 hole competition on? Well, they all packed in after 36 holes. Rightly so. Soaked to the bones, chilled – as in cold, not as in relaxed -, the players retired to the big party tent erected, to “enjoy” their BBQ. However, a gust tore the entire structure down, injuring one person badly. Clothes torn, arm almost broken, tent all over the place. We played some catch the tent, moved everything to a more stable environment and the sorry lot put whatever energy was left in them to have a good time, nevertheless. One has to pay respect to that gang: started out at five in the morning, played golf untill four in the afternoon, all in heavy rainfall, to party on untill almost midnight. I spent only three hours out there and let me tell you: I am still not comfortably warm yet. Maybe it was a mistake to not retire to hot grogs like they did.
