Read an interview with mathematician Rudolf Taschner. He said, justice can never be achieved completely, all one can try is to approximate. And that participating in a lottery is implying injustice in the first place. As any gain is always to the disadvantage of someone else.

Taschner: Gerechtigkeit ist ein Sehnsuchtsort oder ein Kampfbegriff derer, die sich ungerecht behandelt fühlen.”
“Taschner: Nein, Glücksspiel ist die institutionalisierte Ungerechtigkeit. Wer gewinnt, gewinnt ja auf Kosten anderer. Und die anderen sind nicht einmal böse, dass er gewinnt das ist doch unglaublich.”
I wonder: can this not be said about capitalism, too. Any material gain is always to the disadvantage of others? And is this not also widely accepted? In our hemisphere, anyways?
