bubbles

Just caught myself watching the screensaver on my computer. For how long I sat here, staring at the bubbles floating against the blue background, gently bumping into each other and against the virtual confinement of the screen’s edges, I don’t know. I tried to find some regularity in the subtle colour changes, the bubbles go through on their way to and fro. There is none, it seems. I was also somehow expecting one or two of the bubbles to burst when touching another. Just like the real bubbles do so frequently. Recalling the little, red-topped plastic containers holding the soap liquid for bubbles, we played with when kids. Making a mental note to buy one a.s.a.p. Just to try it out once more. All the while, my brain was running free in the background. Day-dreaming, one calls that, I suspect. Great way to start into a busy working weekend. But now I’m already running late…
