Just read a short entry from Mutist II, arguing, that asking for the meaning of life is asking the wrong question. One should much rather ask, how to define the term “meaning of live” or “meaning” itself, which might give anserws much quicker or make the question itself obsolete.
He further recommends, to best look for the attributes and adjuncts first (I use the word adjunct here, which is closest to the definition of the German term “Akzidentien” used by Mutist-II, to which I wasn’t able to find a good enough translation. Accidental quality isn’t quite describing what “Akzidens” actually is, but the word adjunkt pretty much nails it: added qualities, not essentially neccessary, without which the identity or core of something would not be altered).
If I try to follow his suggestion, the only attribute to “the meaning of life” is its presence. Everthing else can be summarised under “adjunct”. There you have it, it’s that simple. Or else, one just needs to watch Monty Python’s movie “The meaning of life” once more…
Just kidding…
