Yesterday afternoon, we offered a guided walk through the woods at our golfing grounds. The green keeping staff have built a path along the outer borders of our courses. As a result of lots of boar damage this year, we needed to get to the fence, to inspect it regularly. As a result, the dense woods are now accessible. So we invited the members to wander through these wild parts of the golf course with us. The Head Greenkeeper and our Head Gardener were there, to explain what they do off the fairways and greens, to maintain the courses and to answer any question, the members might have. And they had many. About the animals, the trees, and what not. It was a perfect afternoon, with brilliant sun, crisp cold, Glühwein (hot, sweetened and spiced wine) served in the middle of nowhere on an open fire that finished off with a romantic sun-set and Kesselgulasch (boar stew out of a kettle) at the Halfway hut.
It was nice for me, also. I got to venture out of the office into fresh air. And my sweetheart came along, too, so we had some quality time together.
“Quality time” sounds good. Nice to see a pic of the sweetheart, too. (Say Hi.) Did you really make Kesselgulasch with boar meat? Now that is what I call divine justice!
