Please meet Karen Powell this fine Sunday morning. The Chicago based artist turned back to art after an award winning career as a graphic designer and art director in Boston.
She says about herself and her work:
My paintings are the visual representation of my voice. They are the language I use to convey my childhood memories through mixed media, vintage photos and visual storytelling. It is the vehicle that brings peace and serenity to my spirit. […]
My inner voice now tells me there are no lines, there is only spontaneity, energy and instinct that compels me to never color in the lines.
I think her work modern and touching at the same time.
