Meet Brigitte Yoshiko Pruchnow this Sunday. She studied Kalligraphy, Art and Japanese sword fight Kendo in Japan, later also Philosophy and Art history in Germany. I am most impressed by the sword fight thingy, I must say!
She mainly paints with acrylic colour in a very figutartive, if not photo-realistic way. And it seems, as if she loves to picture the interaction of light and liquid. But she also does drawings, that give a hint for her former comic-drawing career and Japanese roots. The artist lives and works in Munic.

Love these. Brigitte is a master of light and shadow. All of these are so realistic and precise, even her rendering of the distortion created by rain on a windshield or a body submerged in water. My favorites were the swimmers with green skin that somehow looks exactly the right color. 🙂

Thanks for stopping over and your kind remark. I think, she is a great paintress, too.
