This time I’d like to introduce Robert Motelski to you. The Polish artist is a master of reduction. One can call his body of work almost abstracts. Whereas his motives are not abstract at all. He just reduces nature and what is in it down to its bare minimum of structrure and lifting them onto a coloured stage. Thus showing the inner beauty of what surrounds us. I think this transformation fabulous…











I like the simplicity of these. The jeweler who redid our wedding bands was a master of reduction also. We wanted him to decorate the wide bands with an etching of the natural spring nearby. He took a postcard photo and reduced it to its barest elements. The etching is tiny (1/2 inch x 1/2 inch) but anyone familiar with the spring recognizes it immediately. The breakwater and campfire are my favorites. 🙂
