ex plantation

I have to say: sweetheart’s tomato plantation does pay off. He was allowed to grow his plants on our patio on what is the hold for my climbing roses from the other side. So, in spring, from the entrance of the house, it looks like this:

Whereas now, from our patio’s side, it looks like this:

I am almost at a point, where I refuse to have yet another tomato salad. But it would be such a shame to let but one of those fine specimen go to waste. Maybe I will set sweetheart to cook some tomato sauce to freeze for later consumption.

  1. Wow, your Roma plant is quite the workhorse! I have a few good producers, too, and have eaten my share of tomato salads. One of my favorites is to mix 1 cup each corn, tomato, and onion with 2 Tbsp olive oil and 1 Tbsp wine vinegar, then season with fresh basil and salt and pepper to taste. I also make fresh salsa and BLT sandwiches. Surplus can be peeled and frozen or canned for use in sauces or chili. Love the climbing roses! đŸ™‚
