Please meet Nancy Bass this Sunday. The American farmer and artist puts her herd of cows in the center of her artisitc life. She says about cows: “I am drawn to their calmness and feel a return to simpler times in their innocent faces.” As I happen to like cows too, I want to show some of her herd portraits this Sunday.

These are lovely. This post brought to mind a friend who lived out in the country. She submitted a lot of poems and whenever she got a rejection letter, she would go read the piece to the cows next door, who lifted her spirits by listening with a great deal of interest, as if she were the best poet in the land. 🙂
