Lately, exhibitions and I don’t seem to agree very much. Last Friday I was set to see the Helmut Newton museum in Berlin with friends visiting from Bochum. Guess what, the actual exhibit wasn’t there (off elsewhere from May 17th to June 4th). We had a look at the permanent exhibion anyways, since we were all there. And got an exciting glimpse at: HN’s outerwear, HN’s handcrafted monstrosity of a Jeep, HN’s better magazine covers, HN’s orbituaries, HN’s living room interior and (actually the only thing interesting to me) HN’s photographical equipment. Plus four big blow ups in the hall, giving a taste of what could have been there, if I hadn’t had such bad timing. But I found something quite interesting on youtube about him today. So, by way of repayment, I’ll kind of post it for myself.
