Finally we have a clubhouse. This week Wednesday a huge majority of the owners assembly voted for buying – and financing – the very building we moved out of last January. On Thursday the contract was signed and sealed. As it is a two storey office building a couple of alterations will have to be made to transform it into what we need: a proper clubhouse. However, at long last the controversy new building vs. old building will stop and everyone will concentrate on one goal rather than fight amongst each other, or so I hope. This old house will do fine for us. And next winter staff won’t have to freeze their backsides off in tin containers that never get warm. Yesterday, the toilets froze, icicles coming out of the faucets. We managed to get my office to 12°C, the rest of office space stayed at just 4°C, hall and wet rooms well under zero. Computers had to be disconnected and brought into my tiny room, the server died all together as during the night a power cut occured, killing the radiator warming the server room. Took me most of yesterday to get electricity reinstalled and have someone check computers and waterlines, which was of no avail. Too cold, everything frozen solid, one can’t tell where the pipes have burst. We’ll have to wait for warmer days to find the leakage. On the bright side: this gives me a Sunday off work, no point in being there without connection to the server database. So I just closed the office all together. If anyone is inclined to hit golf balls at – 17°C they are welcome but will have to do so without our help. There won’t be any queues on Tee 1, I guess.
