I took this photograph five years ago, walking Berlin’s streets on an evening. I got a glimpse into a flat above me in a so called “Plattenbau” (a very Berlin-ish term for buildings made with precast concrete slabs – the epitome of modern living in the former east, still scarring the city east of where the wall once ran).
To this day I love this snap shot Although it is a stolen moment and has a voyeuristic feel to it.
Love this. But why does it look like a painting of a person rather than a photograph?

I think, because it was so dark already, that the camera had trouble and pixel it up a bit. Gives it some kind of painting-texture..
