Ha! My first peaches, ever. As far north as Berlin – and of Berlin, the most northern corner – my little dwarf peach trees gave their first fruit this year. I planted the two tiny trees in spring 2014. They are maybe 60 centimeters high and were packed with pale pink blossoms in spring. After the bloom, the trees sprout pointy burgundy leafs, which go a dark brownish-green with time. Beneath the leafs I detected some hairy, green knots in summer. I never thought, the peaches would ever ripen as far north as here, but they did, to my surprise. I noticed today, when I saw a fruit, that has fallen to the ground. And let me tell you, they taste just like peaches should. I am one happy girl…

I’m not sure, but I think we had some peaches this year too!
