Please meet Marta Zamarska this Sunday. The young polish painter graduated 2008 from the Warshaw Academy of Fine Arts. Her diploma theme being railway impressions. A great body of work, I think. But there is more to see – lanscapes, flowers, winter scenes and so on. She was once described as “Monet meets Edward Hopper” (by Ged Quinn of Saatchi art). But she is also a qualified English teacher. Which makes me smile…












These are all so peaceful. Even the subway one. (In what kind of subway can you lean on an open door and rest, though? A Polish one?) And I love trains too.
