Sunday Matinée

Please meet Nina Fabunmi this sunny Sunday morning.

The young American paintress was originally trained in Real Estate Management, her art a constant accompanist all her life. Throughout her 9-5 jobs she kept showing and selling her work as a past-time, until one sale financed her studies of MFA in painting at the University of San Francisco, which she finished with distinction in 2014. She also joined the Society of Nigerian Arts, to name just one of the threads interweaving her work with Africa, also.

I like her style and the way she uses colours a lot.

  1. Great collection. Like you, I love the use of color. My favorites were the first one (the light and pride in the man’s eyes!) and “Stranger” (man and skeleton). Or maybe the girl with the pink umbrella wearing Wellie boots, I love Wellies on rainy days. 🙂
