Sunday Matinée

Please meet Vicky Oldfield today in celebration of spring. She studied design at Staffordshire University, UK and later Advanced Printmaking at Richmond School of Art. She has worked as illustrator and feelance designer and artist for renowned brands and museums.

I still struggle to understand, how she makes these utterly lovely images, so I resolve to just quuote her own explanation: “The prints are taken from plates which have been collaged with a variety of materials, card, fabric, paper, string, sand and anything else that may come to hand; it’s recycling at it’s most creative! The plates are then sealed and then inked up and printed in intaglio or relief on damp paper using an etching press. The embossed textural quality of the print is unique to this method.”

Thus, she works in real small numbers, each print unique. I am enthused, to say the least. I hope, you like her work, too.
